  • Meet your chosen university’s English language and visa requirements

How to Apply

  1. Check your eligibility: Take the eligibility quiz and confirm that you meet Chevening’s citizenship, academic, and work experience criteria.
  2. Select your courses: Apply to three eligible one-year UK Master’s programs. These must be full-time, start in the autumn term, and lead to a taught Master’s degree (not research-only Master's).
  3. Submit the online application: Apply through the official Chevening online portal between 5 August and 7 October 2025. You'll be asked to provide background details, leadership examples, career plans, and course preferences.
  4. Prepare for interview (if shortlisted): Interviews are conducted between February and April. Shortlisted candidates will need to submit two references and their UK university offers.

Important Notes

  • You do not need an unconditional offer to apply — only to remain eligible if selected.
  • All documents must be submitted by mid-July 2026 if selected for final consideration.
  • No age limit — applicants of all ages may apply if they meet the work and academic requirements
  • You do not need to resign from your job to apply; Chevening encourages you to inform your employer and prepare for possible study leave
  • Having a previous Master’s degree does not disqualify you, as long as you justify why another UK degree aligns with your goals
  • You can combine up to 15 separate work experiences to meet the 2,800-hour minimum
  • The application includes four short essays (about leadership, networking, career plans, and studying in the UK)
  • Interviews are conducted in person or virtually by the British Embassy or High Commission
  • You must return to your home country for at least two years after your studies; this is a mandatory condition of the scholarship
  • Chevening alumni work in leadership roles across government, NGOs, tech, business, and academia — you’ll be joining a global network of over 55,000 scholars
