How to Apply

  1. Wait for the official list of eligible Master’s programs
    • In November 2025, the Swedish Institute will publish:
      • The list of eligible Master’s programs
      • Application instructions and required document templates
    • Only programs included in this list will qualify for the scholarship
  2. Apply for eligible programs
    • Once the eligible list is released, apply for up to four of those programs via University Admissions
    • Pay the application fee of 900 SEK (~80€) and ensure that your application is complete by the stated deadline
  3. Apply for the Scholarship
    • During 9–25 Feb 2026, submit one scholarship application via the SI online portal
    • Upload all required documents during the two-week application window

Important Notes

  • You must be liable to pay tuition fees in Sweden (i.e., not EU/EEA and not a Swedish permanent resident) to be eligible.
  • You won’t pay tuition yourself if awarded — the Swedish Institute pays your university directly.
  • Don’t submit at the last minute; the portal often slows or times out near the deadline.
  • Submit all documents in English.
  • You may apply to up to four master’s programmes, but you must be admitted to at least one eligible programme to receive the scholarship.
  • You can submit only one scholarship application even if you apply to multiple programmes.
  • The scholarship cannot be extended beyond the programme length.
  • Only applicants starting in Autumn 2026 are eligible for this round.
  • Prepare early: line up referees, get work/leadership proofs signed & stamped, and review the latest SI templates.
  • Applications that don’t follow the templates, use the wrong format, or miss required documents are disqualified.
  • Reserve/wait-list or late admissions do not qualify — you must be admitted/conditionally admitted to an eligible programme on the official admissions day (26 Mar 2026).
  • There is no age limit.
